Friends star Courteney Cox has spoken about an incident Prince Harry describes in his book, Spare. In his memoir, Harry talks about many encounters with Hollywood A-listers, including one at Cox's home.
The Express reports that Cox has now spoken of Harry's claim that he found “a box of black diamond mushroom chocolates” in her fridge. The Friends star, 58, is assuring her fans that she “certainly didn’t pass them out”.
Prince Harry recalls how he and his friends had been partying and went to Cox’s home, believing she was “travelling, on a job, and didn’t mind if we crashed at her place”. The Duke, who is a self-confessed “Friends fanatic”, was instantly excited at the prospect of “crashing at Monica’s” but was “very confused” when the actress was there at the house.

In his book, Harry claims Courteney allowed them to stay and then describes the crazy party that ensued at her home. During the party, Prince Harry says he saw “a huge box of black diamond mushroom chocolates” in the actress’ fridge that were “for everybody”.
The Prince and his friend “grabbed several, gobbled them, washed them down with tequila”. Now, in an interview with Variety ahead of her Hollywood Walk of Fame ceremony, Courteney admitted there was some truth in the claim.
She said: “He did stay here for a couple of days – probably two or three. He’s a really nice person.” Cox said she had heard the claims, but not read the book. She addressed the claim, saying: “I’m not saying there were mushrooms! I definitely wasn’t passing them out.”
It comes as Cox's star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame was unveiled yesterday (Feb 28). The actress first started in the industry as a model in New York City, shortly after graduating high school.
She earned her first acting accolade on the hit show Family Ties, appearing as Lauren Miller in 19 episodes alongside the series’ breakout star Michael J Fox. But following fame from Friends, Courteney became a sought-after name in the industry, appearing in the Scream film franchise and leading another hit series, Cougar Town, for six seasons.
No stranger to the blinding lights of Hollywood, Harry thanked the following celebrities in his book – Coldplay singer Chris Martin, chat show queen Oprah Winfrey, Gavin and Stacey star James Corden, American actor Tyler Perry, and Argentinian actor Nacho Figueras and his wife Delfina Blaquier.
Harry didn't talk about his friendship with the Clooneys in the book, however. He and Meghan are said to have spent time at George Clooney's house in Lake Como.
A source told US Weekly: "George and Amal were so happy to host Meghan and Harry. Harry and George have a special bond and friendship." It is also reported that Amal and Meghan are good friends, with the barrister helping the Suits actress settle into London life.
