People planning to travel to the USA have been hit with a fresh warning from the UK Foreign Office.
Millions of people visit the US from the UK each year, and with travel companies sharing record numbers of bookings post pandemic, this number could climb even further as we head towards summer.
The Foreign Office regularly issues updates when circumstances around international travel change. On Thursday evening the government department warned people travelling to the USA's east coast in particular.
A new alert warns air travel may be disrupted. It states: "Smoke from wildfires in Canada is currently causing poor air quality across parts of the East Coast of the USA. You should check AirNow.gov for updates on the current air quality in your location and follow the advice given by the US authorities, including wearing a face mask to protect yourself."

People are also advised to "check the status of your flight with your airline before travelling."
The update comes after experts have warned transatlantic travellers they could be in for a longer journey than planned. People, the report said, should now factor extra time into their plans, due to processing times passengers arriving in the US are currently facing.
A study by Bounce analysed the combined average wait times at airports across the US. People arriving at New York's JFK airport can expect to wait the longest, more than 48 minutes on average.
Not far behind is San Francisco International Airport, with an average wait time for both passport clearance and security of 47 minutes and 18 seconds. Miami comes in third place with an average wait time of almost 46 minutes.
Fort Lauderdale–Hollywood International, Orlando, Seattle-Tacoma, St Louis, Honolulu, San Diego and Chicago O'Hare airports also made the top 10 list, each with average waits of over 36 minutes.
