Sun-worshippers sprinted against one another in a desperate bid to get hold of a deckchair.
The stampede of poolside hopeful were seen charging towards the sun loungers in Palma de Mallorca on Spain's Balearic islands.
They run through the bar area and out towards the swimming zone before throwing their bags and towels down on the nearby chairs, the Daily Star reports.
More people followed behind the first onslaught, jogging to get to the sun beds further away from the entrance while carrying lilos, towels and pool toys.
Some holidaymakers walked towards the pool, but quickly began to walk at a faster pace when they noted how many beds were taken.
Others hovered by the bar looking irritated or plonked their beach towels down on the upright seats under the umbrellas
There appears to be well over 50 people involved in the dash, which sees the poolside area filled up in a matter of seconds.
The video was shared by TikTok user Svetlana and garnered more than 2.4million views.
Svetlana pointed out that it was 9am on the sunny Spanish island - which is visited by many Brits, Germans and Dutch people - as the holiday goers bagged their seats.
In the comments, people mocked the sprinting tourists while others claimed it put them off their holidays.
One person wrote: “This makes me not want to go on holiday,” while another added: “My idea of hell.”
But, others thought the hotel was at fault.
One commenter said: “I think it should be the hotel’s responsibility to have one sun bed for every paying customer.”
Racing for a spot by the pool - and whether you should do so - is a question as old as package holidays themselves.
One woman recently took to Mumsnet to rant about how annoyed the practice made her.
She wrote: "I'm in France on a lovely campsite. There are a particular group of Brits that go up the pool every morning, put their bloody stuff on about 10 loungers and then periodically pop up maybe twice in the day.
"I was there for a few hours today and saw people sitting on the floor as these loungers had stuff on them but no people. It’s so f****** ignorant and selfish and it’s giving me the rage. Said people are noisy, playing loud music too and are a bunch of rude inconsiderate w******.
"Am I being unreasonable to complain to reception? Am so tempted to do it anonymously - they do it every day. Today they were also playing really loud rave music by their caravans because everyone on the campsite needs to hear it."
