Frenkie de Jong 'decides' on January transfer and more Manchester United transfer rumours

Manchester United transfer target Frenkie de Jong has reportedly ruled out a move away from Barcelona in January.

The saga involving United and De Jong ran all summer long. In the end, a deal for the Barcelona midfielder to come to Old Trafford never materialised and targets were switched. Despite that, there has always been speculation that a deal could perhaps be resurrected either in January or next summer.

It looked likely his future was away from the Nou Camp when he was struggling to get into the team in the early part of the season but the last few weeks have seen him become a first-team regular for Xavi's side. Now, Sport claim that De Jong has already made up his mind about what the January transfer window might bring.

The Spanish outlet claim De Jong has ruled out a mid-season move and that he is 'oblivious' to suggestions of him moving on. The report adds that the 25-year-old is 'clear and firm' in his stance on his Barcelona future - a big blow to United and fellow suitors.

Meanwhile, The Guardian claim United will be keeping tabs on Stade Rennais winger Kamaldeen Sulemana at the upcoming World Cup.

It's reported that the attacker has a host of big-name admirers, including United. The 20-year-old is set to represent Ghana next month. The African nation's group consists of Portugal, Uruguay and South Korea.

Sulemana was previously at Danish side Nordsjælland before leaving for Rennes in the summer of 2021 for a fee that eclipsed the previous record fee received by a Danish club.
