French street artist Shuck One is paying tribute to influential Black figures in France's history through an upcoming art installation at the Pompidou Center in Paris. The exhibition, titled 'Black Paris,' will showcase the contributions of Black artists in France from the 1950s to 2000, featuring works by 150 artists of African descent.

Shuck One, a Black graffiti and visual artist from Guadeloupe, aims to honor the pioneers of 'Black Paris' who made significant impacts in various fields. His installation, 'Regeneration,' highlights key moments in Black history, including the role of the 'Tirailleurs Sénégalais' in the French army during World Wars and the 1967 riots in Guadeloupe.

The exhibit also features portraits of notable Black figures such as Joséphine Baker, Aimé Césaire, and Angela Davis, alongside lesser-known names like Paulette Nardal, Eugénie Eboué, and Maryse Condé. Shuck One's art aims to revive the legacies of these individuals and educate visitors on the history of activism and community struggles.
