
French President Emmanuel Macron has expressed optimism about the possibility of a truce between Ukraine and Russia in the near future. In a recent interview, Macron stated that he believes a ceasefire could be achieved in the coming weeks, paving the way for negotiations towards a lasting peace.
Macron emphasized the importance of Western allies holding Russia accountable to its commitments. He highlighted the need for substantial measures to ensure the security of Ukraine, Europe, and the credibility of the United States.
As part of the proposed truce, Macron suggested that Russia and Western nations could engage in discussions to establish security guarantees for Ukraine. Following this, a peace treaty could be pursued, with a strong emphasis on preventing Russia from violating the terms.



To bolster Ukraine's security, Macron recommended enhancing its military capabilities. Additionally, he mentioned the possibility of deploying British and French troops to help maintain peace in the region, if requested.
