In the latest case of a pricey pup violently pilfered from its owner, an Antioch, California, woman says her French bulldog was stolen during an armed robbery.
Authorities are still looking for the culprits.
Talia Brown said the incident occurred on Oct. 2 at around 7:45 p.m. She and a friend were driving when two armed men wearing ski masks opened her passenger car door and pointed guns rigged with flashlights at them. One of the men then opened her backdoor and grabbed her dog Stormi along with a backpack with cash.
“They just opened the backdoor and snatched her out,” said Brown in an interview. “I think the dog was just a bonus.
Brown said her 3-year-old dog has a shaved tail and was last wearing a purple harness. The dog also has two sets of bottom teeth.
Stormi was recently experiencing digestive issues and is in need of medicine, her owner said.
Antioch police did not immediately respond to a request for comment.
In the Bay Area, French bulldogs — which can fetch up to $7,000 — are a hot commodity and have been repeatedly stolen over the years.
