Freebies on offer for those receiving GCSE results, from Nandos to Wagamama

Tomorrow (Thursday, August 22) is when anxious teens in England, Wales and Northern Ireland galore will discover their GCSE results.

And after all the studying and exam stress of recent months, what better way to celebrate (or commiserate) than by enjoying free food?

Several famous food chains and restaurants, including Nandos, Wagamama, Las Iguanas, and Papa Johns, will give away freebies to hungry pupils.

Here are some of the best offers:

Nando’s

(Nandos)

Nando’s customers who present their student ID and grades at the register will receive a free quarter chicken or starter menu item from the peri-peri chicken store chain.

Results can be sent by text, email, or printed copy. Students must spend £7 on takeaway or dining in.

Wagamama

Grab a free side and drink free of charge by signing up for Wagamama's new loyalty programme and showing your exam results at any participating restaurant.

The chain, which serves Asian food based on Japanese cuisine, will give GCSE students a free plate of nachos when they show staff their exam certificates.

Las Iguanas

The Mexican food chain will give GCSE students a free plate of nachos when they show them their exam certificates.

Wildwood in Covent Garden or Shaftesbury Avenue

Free garlic goodness awaits those eating at Wildwood in central London on results day.

Students can get free garlic rosemary bread or a classic margherita pizza and spaghetti pomodoro by spending a minimum of £7 per person. 

TGI Fridays

In England and Wales, students can get 24 per cent off their food bills at TGI Friday restaurants as the American chain celebrates the class of 2024.

To claim the discount, you must bring a paper or electronic copy of your results and be a Stripes Rewards member.

Frankie & Benny’s

You will receive free pizza at Frankie & Benny’s If you show proof of your GCSE results and buy a large soft drink.

You can get one free Margherita or Pepperoni pizza with 50 free pizzas up for grabs, so you’ll need to be quick if you want to claim one.

Chiquito

Chiquito, which specialises in Tex-Mex foods, will give students a complimentary dish of loaded nachos on August 22.If you buy a large soft drink, you are entitled to one complimentary portion of Loaded Nachos (Chicken & Chorizo or Pibil Pulled Jackfruit).

Bill’s

Bill's will give GCSE students a free dessert on the day. Book a table, order a main meal, and show your results to your server to claim it.

Bella Italia

Students can enjoy a 30 per cent discount on their bill at Bella Italia on results day.

This offer is available to students and their guests (up to six people), but valid exam results must be presented to the server.

To receive the discount, show your exam results and the voucher code when placing your order.

Please note, this offer is not available at Bella Italia locations in Paddington or Portsmouth.
