New Year's Eve is just around the corner, with 2023 mere days away.
All the planning and preparation for Christmas is done and dusted, with the next big event on the festive calendar dominating many people's thoughts.
If you’re in the mood to get dolled up and go out, there's a host of events in the city you can still book, including an R&B-themed party at city centre bar, Seel Street Venue; as well as a New Year's Rockin' Eve party at PINS Social Club.

But if you'd rather ring in the new year at home, there's plenty of free things to do and enjoy on New Year's Eve. With the added expense of Christmas combined with the cost of living crisis, many people may be looking for ways to save money.
With that in mind, here are some ideas for free things you can do to celebrate New Year's Eve in Liverpool.
Get baking
Channel your inner Mary Berry or Paul Hollywood and get baking in the kitchen. Baking supplies are relatively cheap, and if you've got staple ingredients like flour, eggs, butter and sugar already at home, you can whip up all kinds of sweet treats for next to nothing.
Go for a walk
Liverpool is a beautiful city, with stunning architecture and lush, green parks. There's even beaches nearby, so if you fancy a late afternoon walk, you're spoilt for choice.
After countless days spent at home tucking into festive foods and binge-watching television, getting out and about is a good way to hit that refresh button. Even a quick walk up and down the streets surrounding your home is enough to get your blood pumping.
Host a house party
There's likely an abundance of Christmas chocolates, snacks and alcohol taking up valuable room at home. If you host a house party for your nearest and dearest and ask them to bring their leftovers, it's a good way to ring in the new year for little to no money, while everyone can get rid of excess food before the inevitable healthy eating kick rolls in come January.
Have a movie night
Christmas is probably the only time of year where it's possible to relax and rest up guilt free. If you're not quite ready to return to the hectic hustle and bustle of everyday life, then get a movie night on the go.
Cosy up on the couch with blankets and popcorn and see what Netflix, Amazon Prime or Disney+ has to offer. Or, choose a few DVDs with the family and tune into some classics.
Go and see the Christmas lights
There's some beautiful displays in Liverpool, and New Year's Eve offers an ideal opportunity to see them before they vanish for another year. You could venture into the city centre and gaze at the new tree on Chavasse Park in Liverpool ONE, not to mention the stunning lights and installations surrounding it.
Williamson Square and the Albert Dock are also beautifully lit up and well worth seeking out. You could even venture out into your local neighbourhood and spot how the locals have decorated their homes and gardens.
Have a games night
You can crack out the board games and play classics like Twister, Monopoly or Scrabble for a more relaxed way to see in 2023. Games nights are a great way to entertain the whole family, with a range to suit all ages. You could even choose prizes for the winners - another great way to get rid of excess sweets and chocolates.
