Free family-friendly French food and music festival coming to Dublin

A free-to-attend family-friendly French Food Festival will be coming to Dublin this June Bank Holiday Weekend.

The festival will bring popular Normandy foods, drinks and music to St Patrick’s Park on Saturday, June 3 from 12pm to 7pm. Normandy food trucks will arrive en masse to serve up tasty sweet and savoury dishes all day long.

Some of the things Dublin foodies will be able to try are traditional French crepes filled with cheese and more, fresh brioches topped with Normandy delicacies, and fine beef with creamy camembert and Neufchatel cheese served up in a soft bun.

A Normandy sweet treats tasting will also be on offer, as well as cheese classics like Camembert, Neufchatel and Isigny Mimolette, crowned the best cheese in the world this year. Visitors will also have the opportunity to bring some home.

There will be traditional brews and visitors can enjoy several tastings, including cider and apple brandies, as well as unique and authentic Normandy cocktails. Those who love to cook will be able to go on free to attend masterclasses and demonstrations.

To top the celebrations off, visitors of each of the food tour stops will be entertained by the French indie rock band For the Hackers, who will be performing for the very first time in Ireland. Hailing from Normandy, these musicians will be playing on top of their solar-powered bus.

Commenting on the upcoming Normandy Food Tour, Director of Normandy Tourism Michael Dodds says, “We are very excited to take the Normandy Food Tour to Ireland. We value our shared heritage with Ireland and we look forward to building upon those connections this June.”
