The Eagles announced they have signed veteran wide receiver Julio Jones to a one-year contract Tuesday afternoon. Philadelphia initially will add Jones to its practice squad with the likely intent to transfer him to the 53-man roster soon, according to NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport.
Jones spent the first 10 years of his career with the Falcons, producing seven 1,000-yard seasons and leading the league in receiving yards twice. In that time, Jones earned seven Pro Bowl selections and was named first team All-Pro twice.
In the past two seasons, Jones played for the Titans and Buccaneers, totaling 733 receiving yards in 20 games (15 starts) between the two teams.
Philadelphia adds depth to its wide receiver group by signing the 34-year-old Jones, who played with star Eagles receiver A.J. Brown in Tennessee two seasons ago.
