Free agent RB has extremely high praise for Dolphins

Miami Dolphins general manager Chris Grier has done a lot of work to improve the roster over the last three seasons.

He’s drafted great, young players like Jaylen Waddle, Jaelan Phillips and Jevon Holland while bringing in impressive veteran talents such as Terron Armstead, Tyreek Hill, Bradley Chubb and Jalen Ramsey.

It’s not that surprising that these moves have begun to catch the eye of players who are still looking for a place to play in 2023.

Recently, former Tampa Bay Buccaneers and Jacksonville Jaguars running back Leonard Fournett joined NFL Network’s “Good Morning Football,” where he was asked who has the best roster in the league at this point.

“So I’ll be rolling with the Miami Dolphins,” Fournette said (transcribed by Sports Illustrated). “For me, bringing a guy like Jalen over there, his attitude. I played with him in Jacksonville, played against him when he played with the Rams, I know what he brings to the table. And with Tyreek (Hill), Jalen, the young guys they have, they’re gonna do a tremendous job and the defense is not bad. And I can’t wait to see what Jalen brings, and I’m very excited for him. A new home, a new place for him, it’s gonna be very exciting for him. If Tua stays healthy, they can make a good run.”

Interestingly, Miami’s still been in the market for a running back, despite bringing back Raheem Mostert, Jeff Wilson, Myles Gaskin and Salvon Ahmed as well as drafting De’Von Achane and signing undrafted rookie Chris Brooks.

The team has reportedly been checking on former Minnesota Vikings running back Dalvin Cook, who was released last week.

Could Fournette’s answer be a hint that he’d be willing to spend 2023 with a third team in Florida? At this point, it’s unknown, but he’d definitely add more talent to an already deep competition for touches during training camp.
