Nottingham Forest-linked Djibril Sidibe is said to be close to joining a new club.
Reports in France had previously claimed the Reds had “reached an agreement” with the full-back with more than a week of the transfer window to go. And it had been suggested they could sign both the 30-year-old and fellow free agent Serge Aurier, who is still expected to make the switch to the City Ground.
However, French newspaper L’Equipe report Sidibe is now thought to be heading to Greece. Advanced talks are said to have taken place over linking up with AEK Athens.

The Frenchman has been without a club since a six-year spell at AS Monaco came to an end earlier this summer. He has Premier League experience from a loan spell at Everton, and it was reported Forest had put in place a one-year deal, with the option of a further 12 months beyond that, to secure his signature.
Aurier remains likely to become the Reds’ 22nd new addition, having been waiting for a visa and work permit to be sorted. He has been identified as the man to provide cover and competition for Neco Williams at right wing-back.
Head coach Steve Cooper has frequently spoken about the need to ensure his squad had sufficient strength in depth at the end of the transfer window. He has said: "It's not just thinking about the team which starts games. With being able to make five subs, you're also thinking about teams which may finish games.
"That's going to become a really important factor in football, going forward. It's more than the XI players who start, there's 20 players who you've got to keep engaged, in terms of the game-plan, to play.
"It's not just about the XI. You try to train in a way that you're training the whole squad, because they may be needed. That's becoming a real norm now, with our work.”
