Tracking the Bears’ moves as they approach the start of the league season on Wednesday afternoon:

March 15

9 a.m.: The Patriots agreed to a deal to sign former Bears offensive tackle Riley Reiff, ESPN reported. Reiff, 34, started 10 games for the Bears last season.

March 14

10:30 p.m.: The Bears agreed to give Seahawks running back Travis Homer a two-year deal that could be worth up to $4.5 million, a source confirmed to the Sun-Times. Homer has been a special teams stalwart for the Seahawks, appearing in half their kicking downs last year and two-thirds of them in 2021. In his four-year career, he’s totaled 721 special teams plays. He had 19 carries for 74 yards last year.

9 p.m: Running back David Montgomery is leaving the only team he’s ever known after agreeing to a three-year deal to play for the NFC North rival Lions. Montgomery posted a farewell on Instagram, thanking the Bears for “taking a chance on a kid who had nothing.” Montgomery ran for 3,609 yards and 26 touchdowns in four seasons with the Bears, catching 155 passes for 1,240 yards and four touchdowns. Bears general manager Ryan Poles spoke openly of his admiration for Montgomery as a player, but that wasn’t enough to get a deal done.

March 13

9:15 p.m.: The Bears have agreed to give former Titans defensive end DeMarcus Walker a three-year, $21 million deal, a source told the Sun-Times. He had seven sacks last season.

2:20 p.m.: The Bears agreed to give linebacker Tremaine Edmunds a four-year, $72 million deal with $50 guaranteed, a source confirmed. Edmunds, who made two Pro Bowls in five seasons with the Bills, will play weak-side linebacker for the Bears.

2:15 p.m.: The Bears will sign guard Nate Davis from the Titans, a source confirmed. He’ll get a three-year deal.

1 p.m.: One of the top offensive linemen is officially on the market: former Chiefs left tackle Orlando Brown. The Chiefs agreed to a four-year, $80 million deal with Jaguars tackle Jawaan Taylor, according to NFL Network, meaning they’re likely moving on from Brown.

Brown, 26, could be a top target for the Bears. He has made the Pro Bowl each of the last four seasons and has played 81 of a possible 82 games in his five-year career. Spotrac projects Brown’s market value at a five-year contract worth $112.1 million.

11:30 a.m.: The Bears agreed to sign Eagles linebacker TJ Edwards to a three-year deal, sources said. A Lake Villa native and Wisconsin alum, he had 159 tackles for the NFC champions last season.

March 10

5 p.m.: Bears general manager Ryan Poles traded the No. 1 overall pick to the Panthers for two first-round picks, two second-round picks and wide receiver D.J. Moore. The move reinforced what Poles said all offseason — that he had faith in quarterback Justin Fields.

4:30 p.m.: The Bears tendered cornerback Josh Blackwell and defensive lineman Andrew Brown, both of whom were exclusive rights free agents.

3 p.m.: Long snapper Patrick Scales agreed to terms to return to the Bears, his agent Tweeted. Scales has played for the Bears since 2015 and appeared in his 100th game last season.

March 8

7:30 p.m.: The Bears agreed to re-sign fullback Khari Blasingame to a two-year contract.

Feb. 21

1 p.m.: The Bears tenured offensive lineman Dieter Eiselen, an exclusive rights free agent.

Feb. 17

8 p.m.: The Bears released defensive end Al-Quadin Muhammad after one season. Muhammad, who followed coach Matt Eberflus to Chicago after four years in Indianapolis, had only one sack last season.
