Fred VanVleet expected to sign $110 million extension with Raptors

More on this storyline

Sources said the Mavs are willing to give Brunson a five-year contract — which only Dallas can offer due to owning his Bird rights — that is comparable to the four-year, $85 million deal guard Fred VanVleet signed with the Toronto Raptors in 2020. -via ESPN / June 28, 2022
The Knicks are increasingly expected to assemble a four-year offer to Brunson valued in the $100 million range, sources said, after the former second-round pick (No. 33 overall in 2018) played out the final season of his first NBA contract at $1.8 million in 2021-22. When the season ended, sources said, Dallas believed that a four-year offer ranging from $85-to-$88 million — similar to Fred VanVleet’s deal in Toronto — would likely secure Brunson’s signature. -via marcstein.substack.com / June 24, 2022
Fred VanVleet continues to do things no one else from Rockford has ever done. And here are two more: A documentary on VanVleet was released this winter, and he was also named one of the five finalists for the NBA’s second annual Social Justice Champion award, which comes with a trophy named after Kareem Abdul-Jabbar. -via Rockford Register Star / June 18, 2022
