Jermaine Jenas has hailed Fred as Manchester United's unsung hero after victory over Tottenham Hotspur.
Cristiano Ronaldo stole the headlines with a superb hat-trick to see United move back into the top four. However, former Spurs midfielder Jenas has claimed that Fred played a crucial role in the victory.
The Brazilian's neat flick teed up Ronaldo's first and saw him move above Manchester City's Kevin De Bruyne for Premier League assists this season. His overall play throughout the game was the subject of high praise from Jenas.

He explained on Match of the Day : "I think in these types of moments, Fred's the type of person Manchester United have gone to quite often. His energy levels, his work rate in the game today was above all.
"Ronaldo will get all the plaudits, and rightly so, but Fred in particular today had all different aspects to his game. Quality on the ball and awareness.
"There was just this tenacity and bite to his performance. Look at the anger in him to want to win the ball, working his feet and working harder than anyone else to not only win the ball back but to have the quality and composure to set Manchester United on the attack.
"This was a constant, he was picking balls up in little pockets, playing one-twos, setting his team on the attack. This is a player playing with confidence today.
"Whether what happened last week [in the defeat to Manchester City] stung them and they looked at themselves in training, but he had one of those performances today that did what needed to be done and he did it."
