Lindsay Lohan and Jamie Lee Curtis will return for Freaky Friday 2, according to reports.
Disney is set to make the sequel exactly thirty years after the 2003 body-swap comedy won over the hearts of viewers.
Freaky Friday follows Tess (Curtis) and her daughter Anna (Lohan), whose strained relationship is put to the test when they wake up one Friday and find they have swapped bodies.
The film was based on Mary Rodgers' 1972 novel. It grossed $160million (£127million) globally and is still beloved by fans.
Jamie Lee teased fans about the sequel during an appearance at the Producers Guild Awards as she said: "It's going to happen.
"Without saying there's anything officially happening, I'm looking at you in this moment and saying, 'Of course it's going to happen.'
And it seems she was right.
Elyse Hollander will be writing the script for the much-anticipated sequel, according to The Hollywood Reporter.
Jamie Lee seemingly confirmed the news on Instagram as she shared a picture of her and Lindsay sitting down for an interview to discuss the possibility of a new film.
"IT'S WACKY WEDNESDAY THAT SHOULD HAVE POSTED ON FREAKY FRIDAY! Duh! Whatev! EXCITED," she wrote.
The scream queen also teased the return of Tess and Anna as she shared a throwback snap form the film back in February.
She wrote: "It's Friday. I'm just sayin! Freaky fingers crossed!" and tagged Lindsay, as well as Disney in the post.
Her 36-year-old co-star responded with fingers crossed and heart eyed emojis.
Fans went wild, with the comments full of people begging for the film to get a sequel.
One said: "Not to be dramatic but if this doesn't happen I'll explode or something."
Celebrity fans like Zooey Deschanel and Selma Blair also commented sharing love for the film.
