Frantic search launched for missing Dumfries man last seen on Wednesday

Police have launched a desperate appeal for help as they look to trace a missing 59-year-old man who disappeared yesterday.

Trevor Murphy was last seen near to Bankhead Road in The Old Glen Road area Dumfries at roughly 1pm on December 7.

He is described as 5ft 9in tall, of slim build with brown/grey hair and glasses.

Trevor was last seen wearing a grey zip up top, grey joggers and black trainers. He may also be carrying a holdall with him.

Trevor is known to frequently visit Northumberland and Cumbria in England. Police are liaising with officers in these areas in the hopes of tracking him down.

Sergeant Dalgeish-Little of Dumfries Police said: “We are extremely concerned for Trevor’s safety and wellbeing. We are carrying out searches and enquiries to trace him as soon as possible to ensure that he is safe and well.

“If you have seen Trevor or have any information on his whereabouts, I urge you to contact police through 101 with reference number 0070 of 8 December."
