Frankie Boyle's Boris Johnson jibe cleared by regulator Ofcom after complaints

Channel 4 has been cleared by TV watchdog Ofcom over comments Frankie Boyle made about Boris Johnson.

The regulator reviewed an episode of satirical show The Last Leg in which the Glasgow stand-up said he hoped the PM would be “dragged screaming into hell”.

Boyle, 49, was responding to Johnson ending his final Prime Minister’s Questions with the words: “Hasta la vista, baby.”

He said: “You finished with a quote from The Terminator ... I hope a vent opens up in the ground and clawed hands drag you screaming into hell.”

The gag sparked 11 complaints to Ofcom, which said they “did not raise issues warranting investigation”.
