Frank McGarvey in emotional Celtic Park address following cancer diagnosis

CELTIC PARK was full of emotion prior to today's Premiership match between the Hoops and Hibs.

Club icon Frank McGarvey took to the pitch before kick-off.

It comes just days after his cancer diagnosis was confirmed.

The 66-year-old was accompanied by family members on the Parkhead pitch, as the Hoops faithful gave McGarvey a rousing reception.

An emotional rendition of 'You'll Never Walk Alone' was played too.

As well as playing for Celtic, McGarvey also turned out for St Mirren, Queen of the South and Clyde.

He was capped seven times by Scotland too.

Celtic wrote on their twitter feed pre-match: "Frank will be on the Paradise pitch tomorrow to say thanks to his fellow Celtic fans for all their support over the years, & particularly over the past few weeks.

"Frank played 245 times for Celtic & is one of only 29 players to have scored over 100 goals for the club."
