Frank Lampard urged to repeat Mason Mount transfer trick as Everton eye summer Chelsea raid

Frank Lampard has been urged to raid Chelsea in the upcoming transfer window, with the former Blues boss eager to bolster his Everton side this summer. The Toffees dodged relegation from the Premier League despite having once looked down and out, with their 3-2 win over Crystal Palace in their penultimate match of the season - which saw them battle back from two-down at half-time - securing their top-flight status for yet another season.

With Everton safe, Lampard is set to to begin conversations with the board and his players about the future. Speaking after the dramatic victory over Crystal Palace, the Toffees boss admitted that the club have quickly turned their attention to the summer window.

Chelsea's all-time top goalscorer said: "Yes it has. I have been thinking about that and it has obviously been second in the list of priorities because we had to get this done and now we will quickly continue to think about that because we want to take the club forward."

Meanwhile, Todd Boehly's consortium, who have agreed a £4.25billion deal to buy the west London club, are expected to 'push for A-list signings' to mark a new era at Stamford Bridge, according to the MailOnline. And, with the new ownership group eager to bolster the Blues armoury, The Telegraph indicate that, after player sales are taken into account, Thomas Tuchel is set to have £200million at his disposal to strengthen his side.

So, the Chelsea boss could well send a number of talented Cobham youngsters out on loan, as well as a few senior players seeking first-team football. Armando Broja, Billy Gilmour, Conor Gallagher and Levi Colwill are among several loanees who will return to Stamford Bridge this summer before their futures are decided.

And, according to The Sun, Everton scouts already have a name in mind. The Toffees have reportedly watched Colwill in action several times this season as he helped The Terriers reach the Championship play-off final.

Kevin Campbell believes that Lampard would be 'stupid not to' contact his former club and take advantage of the relationship he has. The former Chelsea midfielder enjoyed great success in doing so at Derby County by signing Mason Mount and Fikayo Tomori on loan - the duo guided the Rams to a Wembley play-off final, and the duo have since grown into imperious players.

Speaking to Goodison News, the former Everton striker encouraged the Toffees boss to look at Chelsea loanees. Campbell said: "He’d be stupid not to. He’d be crazy not to. And the thing is with those players [Broja, Gallagher etc], they’ve now got Premier League experience under their belt.

“They’ve had good loan spells at other clubs and they’ve done well. So Frank Lampard would be crazy not to go, because he knows them. He knows what they’re capable of. They’re young, they’re fit, they’re hungry, and they’re talented. So I think you’ve got to use what you can.”
