Frank Lampard has questioned courage the courage of Everton's squad - currently including Donny van de Beek - after they were knocked out of the FA Cup on Sunday at Crystal Palace.
Marc Guehi, Jean-Philippe Mateta, Wilfried Zaha and Will Hughes were all on the scoresheet as Everton were trounced at Selhurst Park. Van de Beek did not feature in the cup tie after already featuring for United in the competition.
At full time on Sunday, Lampard questioned the whole Everton squad after they crumbled following a promising victory over Newcastle on Thursday. "There is only so much you can keep trying to butter someone up to get confidence," the former Chelsea man said.

"You’re playing at the cut-throat end of football; this is the FA Cup quarter-finals. If you haven’t got the confidence to play, you can flip it and say: ‘Have you got the b******* to play?’
"Apologies but that’s the football term. We didn’t play that badly today, Palace didn’t play that well.
"It was a lack of confidence, and a lack of what I just said. It wasn’t tactics."
Van de Beek has yet to make the impact he would have hoped for when he joined Everton on loan in January. He has been a regular member of the squad at Goodison Park but he was dropped from the squad entirely for the visit of Newcastle due to illness and has failed to grab a goal or an assist in six matches.
