Everton manager Frank Lampard has provided an update on Donny van de Beek after he was forced to withdraw from the Everton starting XI on Sunday due to injury.
The Manchester United loanee was due to start for the Toffees in their away trip to West Ham. However, after the teams had been announced, Van de Beek had to pull out due to an injury suffered in the warm-up.
His replacement, Mason Holgate, made a positive impact, scoring an equaliser for the Merseyside club. Unfortunately for Everton, this was not enough to help them avoid defeat at the London Stadium.

Speaking at full-time, Lampard provided an update on the injury. He explained: "Donny had a muscle injury - his quad.
"We don't know the size of it, hopefully it's a small one, but not enough to start a game - maybe having to then shuffle around after five or 10 minutes." Van de Beek has played six Premier League fixtures for Lampard but has failed to score or grab an assist in any of those matches.
