Frank Lampard names Yerry Mina Everton return date and makes Dominic Calvert-Lewin pledge

Everton manager Frank Lampard has revealed a comeback date for injured centre-back Yerry Mina while insisting that goal-shy striker Dominic Calvert-Lewin maintains his “full support.”

Mina has played in just 10 of the Blues’ 29 Premier League matches so far this season and hasn’t figured since going off with a hamstring injury in the 3-1 defeat at Newcastle United back on February 8.

Asked about injuries ahead of Everton’s game at home to Manchester United on Saturday, Lampard – who has Allan and Michael Keane both back from suspension – said: “It’s been a busy week for us physically. Sunday, Wednesday night, Saturday morning is a tough one so freshness is good.

“We’ve got Seamus Coleman – who on Wednesday night was feeling the effects of not being well and wasn’t fit to play – in consideration, so that’s a nice boost for the game tomorrow. Fabian Delph is in the squad and is fit and available. Yerry Mina we hope will be fit for Leicester (on April 20).”

Lampard also commented on the form of Calvert-Lewin, who with 21 goals in all competitions, was the Blues' top scorer last season but has yet to find the net in 10 matches since returning on January 2 from a four-month injury lay-off. The Everton boss said: “I just give him complete support. He’s a top player and professional from my time being here.

“The difficult thing as a professional, when they’ve been suffering from injuries, which he has, they can’t answer the questions well enough because they’re not playing or they’re just coming back from injury.

“Dominic is now reaching that fitness and the next step is can he contribute as well as he can and can he get the goals that we want from him. But he has my absolute support, Dominic, from inside.

“I know how much he wants to deliver, I’ve spoken to him this morning, I speak to him all the time. I have absolute confidence that will come good in terms of goals for him.”
