Frank Lampard has claimed that Everton's relegation situation is no different to Leeds United's after the Toffees boss reflected on their 3-2 defeat against Burnley. The Clarets came from behind to claim all three points at Turf Moor in what was billed as a 'six-pointer' on Wednesday night.
Nathan Collins gave Sean Dyche's side the lead inside the opening quarter of an hour, before Richarlison's quick-fire brace put Everton ahead going into the break. However, an inspired half-time team talk from Dyche saw the Clarets turn the game on its head as Jay Rodriguez and Maxwel Cornet both struck to earn a precious win.
The result leaves Burnley a point and a place behind Everton in the Premier League table, with Leeds United five points above the Toffees but have played two more games than both teams. It is poised to be a tense run-in given that Watford aren't exactly cut adrift either and have some favourable fixtures to play.

However, Everton are now in real danger of dropping into the now-named Championship for the first time. And Lampard, who has won just twice since replacing Rafael Benitez in January, has claimed that their situation is the same as all of the relegation rivals.
When asked by a Sky Sports reporter about whether their situation is the same as the sides around them or if the club's history invites more pressure, Lampard responded: "It feels the same to me, whether that’s true, maybe. It shouldn’t be absolute in football terms. I understand that.
"But the reality is what it is. We are no different to Burnley, no different to Watford, Norwich or Leeds United. Or the teams around us.
"It’s just where we are at as a football club. Players don’t need to listen or read anything. Or get involved in anything other than turning up tomorrow and getting right for Saturday."
This weekend is expected to be another dramatic one in the fight to stay in the division. Everton face Manchester United, while Burnley travel to Norwich City and Leeds take on Watford.
