Mason Holgate is the latest player to be added to Everton’s injury list.
The centre back was forced off just before the 70th minute after sustaining a knee injury at Brentford. The 25-year-old is now due to undergo a scan in the next 48 hours as medics assess the extent of the problem.
Speaking after the 1-1 draw, Frank Lampard said Holgate could miss the next couple of games.

Holgate went down midway through the second half and was replaced by Michael Keane. He had been part of a battling display as Everton ’s three centre backs came under severe pressure from the hosts. The Blues’ defence was not breached until after Holgate’s departure, when Vitaly Janelt poked in from a late corner.
After the match, Lampard said: “He’s opened up his knee and felt some pain so we are going to scan it in the next day or so. The feeling is it will be weeks, maximum, we hope, but may take him out of the next couple of games. I don’t want to jump the gun too much on that but hopefully it’s not a really bad injury.”
Holgate joins centre backs Ben Godfrey and Yerry Mina on Everton’s injured list. Both players suffered serious injuries in the opening game of the Premier League season against Chelsea. Holgate was brought on for the injured Godfrey and had retained his place.
Forward players Dominic Calvert-Lewin and Andros Townsend and central midfielder Abdoulaye Doucoure are also among those currently unavailable to Lampard through injury.
