Frank Lampard is hopeful that Dominic Calvert-Lewin will be involved in Everton training this weekend ahead of their showdown against Tottenham on Monday evening.
Starting the season in fine form with three goals from his first three games, the England international has only played in five games for the Toffees since due to injury.
Out of action for over four months following their win at Brighton & Hove Albion in August with a quadriceps issue, he was then absent from the matchday squad last weekend for their slender defeat against Man City with an adductor injury.
Given Everton's struggles towards the bottom of the table and the need to pick up the points rather quickly, Lampard needs his main striker back if the Toffees are to move away from the danger zone.
Speaking following Everton's 2-0 win over National League side Boreham Wood in the FA Cup on Thursday evening, Lampard provided an update on Calvert-Lewin, Ben Godfrey and Vitaliy Mykolenko, who came off in the cup tie with an issue on the hour mark.
"It's a dead leg [for Mykolenko], so not too bad," said the former England international, as reported by Liverpool Echo.
"Dominic, we're hoping will be training over the weekend, but we'll have to wait and see.
"Ben Godfrey is getting closer, hopefully he'll be with us in the early part of next week."
Another player Lampard and Everton had to do without against Boreham Wood was midfielder Andre Gomes.
Despite missing out on the game at Goodison Park with a thigh problem, the Portuguese player could be back in training ahead of their trip to the capital.
"He's picked up a thigh injury, which he's been carrying a bit," he added. "Hopefully he'll be training over the next couple of days."
