Frank Lampard insists Everton must be 'calm under pressure' amid relegation battle with Leeds United

Everton manager Frank Lampard has insisted his players must deal with the added pressure that comes with being involved in a relegation battle.

The Toffees can secure their status in England's top flight with victory at Goodison Park this evening, with United hoping opponents Crystal Palace can do them an added favour.

Leeds have just one game remaining in order to help their chances of survival this season, as they visit the capital to take on Brentford later this weekend.

Lampard, who took the reins on Merseyside back in January, has struggled for any consistency within the side, with Everton bidding to end a disastrous campaign on a somewhat positive note.

With the Gunners also still to come on the final day, the former Chelsea boss believes his players must embrace the situation in order to find a winning formula.

"It is what it is," began the 43-year-old. "We've got two games left to get two points with the goal difference situation with Leeds, as I mentioned before we're not going to write off the game against Arsenal.

"It's a game where we'll try to get a result no matter what happens on Thursday. We understand the situation and what we need and want, we have to just prepare as well as we can in order to get it."

"We're determined, focused and I think you saw that against Brentford in the first 17 minutes, after that, the work ethic & spirit of the team was something you could be proud of."
