Frank Lampard has confirmed Donny van de Beek will be back in contention for Everton this week.
The on-loan Manchester United midfielder has been missing since the Toffees’ defeat to Wolves back in March, having suffered from injury problems. His return to action in recent weeks has been delayed with Everton facing his parent club, as well as the birth of his daughter.
Van de Beek though could be in line to make his comeback this week. Everton face Leicester City on Wednesday, before taking on Liverpool in the Merseyside derby on Sunday.

The 25-year-old will be keen to make a return in time for that trip to Anfield as he looks to make a good impression on United. Van de Beek is due to return to Old Trafford when his loan expires at the end of the season.
Speaking at his pre-match press conference ahead of the game against Leicester, Everton boss Lampard said: “Donny’s back in contention. He was not well for a period, had an injury pre-West Ham, and has had a baby girl last week. It’s nice to have him back in, and nice for him to have his baby girl, and he’s back in the squad.”
Van de Beek’s return comes at an important time for Everton as they look to secure their safety in the Premier League. With eight games remaining, they sit three points above the relegation zone, having beaten United in their last outing.
The former Ajax midfielder’s chances at Old Trafford have so far been limited, putting his future at the club in doubt. He could be set for a reprieve this summer though, with his former boss Erik ten Hag looking to be on the verge of becoming United’s new manager.
Ten Hag is thought to have verbally agreed a deal with the Reds, having been interviewed for the job last month. United are yet to make any announcement, although they do intend to have their appointment done before the end of the season.
