Everton manager Frank Lampard was delighted after hearing his former player Mason Mount managed to help Chelsea past Leeds United 3-0 at Elland Road. Goals from Mount, Christian Pulisic and Romelu Lukaku helped Lampard's former side to an impressive win over a disappointing Leeds outfit that had Dan James sent off for a dangerous challenge on Blues midfielder Mateo Kovacic.
Meanwhile, Everton played out a 0-0 draw against Watford away, but moved a step closer to safety by picking up a point against the Hornets. They now sit two points clear of Leeds in 16th place with a game in hand.
Mount and Lampard have always shared a strong bond, with the latter giving the former his first team opportunity at Derby County before taking on the Chelsea job, allowing the England international to flourish.

Against Leeds, the 23-year-old became only the fifth Chelsea player to register double digits for goals and assists in a Premier League season.
And Lampard was delighted to hear Mount's performance had helped his Everton side out as the Toffees look to secure Premier League survival.
"Yeah, it was useful," smiled Lampard in his post match "I'll send him a message of thanks!"
"I'll send him a message of thanks later. I mean, those things are out of your hands but Mason is a fantastic player and I'm pleased he's getting those numbers because he's a player of such a high level and those numbers reflect it.
"Brilliant for him, Chelsea did us a favour getting that result but as I say we have to make sure we do our thing to get us over the line and that's in front of us."
