Frank Lampard sends blunt Mason Mount future message amid Liverpool transfer interest
Chelsea manager Frank Lampard has delivered a blunt response on Mason Mount's future at Stamford Bridge amid reported interest from Premier League rivals Liverpool and Manchester United.
Having shelved their initial plans to target Borussia Dortmund sensation Jude Bellingham when the market reopens, due to the immense financial costs involved, Jurgen Klopp and his recruitment team will instead spread their budget on several midfield recruits. As things stand, Alexis Mac Allister from Brighton is among their prime targets.
However, countless names - including Mount - continue to do the rounds as potential alternatives for the Reds. The 24-year-old is at a contract standstill right now with 13 months left to run on his current agreement.

Mason Mount 'leaning towards' move to Liverpool's rivals if he leaves Chelsea this summer
Liverpool target Mason Mount is 'leaning towards' Manchester United should he leave Chelsea during the summer transfer window - according to a report from The Athletic.
As per his article, David Ornstein states Old Trafford is the preferred destination for Mount on the proviso that he's unable to put pen-to-paper on an extended agreement with his current club. The 24-year-old only has 13 months to run on his deal at Stamford Bridge, which has alerted potential suitors from across Europe.
In their impending pursuit for midfield recruits, Liverpool are thought to have made Alexis Mac Allister the primary target, while the ECHO understands Mount and Bayern Munich's Ryan Gravenberch are being assessed in a possible shopping list which is longer than it usually would be at this time in the season.
However, reports from The Athletic indicate Liverpool have been dealt a blow when it comes to Mount.
