Frank Clark comments on Bengals-Chiefs as rivalry kicks up another notch

The rivalry between the Cincinnati Bengals and Kansas City Chiefs just keeps on growing.

While the Chiefs are on to the Super Bowl to dance with the Philadelphia Eagles after last week’s AFC title game win, Bengals players and fans still have to listen to them being brought up in the aftermath.

The latest comes from Frank Clark, who addressed the rivalry when asked, as captured by ESPN’s Coley Harvey:

“It’s just one of those classic examples of talking trash after the game, you know what I mean? That’s kind of what we did. It’s slowly become one of our rivals in the season. And fortunately, you know, that’s not the team that we’re talking about no more. They got a whole other year to wait … It’s about the Chiefs and the Eagles right about now.”

While it might sting, that’s just how it goes when on the losing end in a rivalry like this. The Bengals can point to the 3-1 record against the Chiefs over the last year or so, but they’re currently going to have to watch Kansas City take this victory lap of sorts.

Clark, by the way, was the guy comparing Joe Burrow to Peyton Manning before the game, so it’s not like he’s public enemy No. 1 for addressing the question this week.

The comments come on the heels of Travis Kelce making an appeal to the city of Cincinnati and Joe Burrow giving his thoughts about the rivalry.
