Francis Ngannou Predicts Anthony Joshua Won't Recover From Knockout

Anthony Joshua

Francis Ngannou has made a bold prediction ahead of his upcoming heavyweight clash with Anthony Joshua, stating that Joshua may not be able to recover if he is knocked down by Ngannou, similar to what happened in Ngannou's explosive bout with Tyson Fury.

The highly anticipated Joshua-Ngannou fight is set to be broadcast live on Sky Sports Box Office on Friday, March 8. This will only be Ngannou's second professional boxing match, following his debut against Fury last October, where he stunned the world by dropping Fury in the third round before ultimately losing in a split decision.

When asked about Joshua's ability to withstand his punches, Ngannou expressed doubt, citing Fury's resilience in their fight. Ngannou acknowledged Fury as one of the most resistant fighters and implied that Joshua might not have the same level of durability.

Joshua, a former unified heavyweight champion, responded to Ngannou's comments by downplaying concerns about his chin, pointing out that many fighters have knocked Fury down in the past. He emphasized that his focus is on the upcoming fight and moving forward in his career.

The fight between Joshua and Ngannou will take place at the Kingdom Arena in Riyadh, with Joshua aiming to extend his three-bout winning streak. Ngannou expressed eagerness for the fight, stating that he specifically requested it after observing Joshua's matches and identifying an opportunity.

On the undercard, Joseph Parker will face Zhilei Zhang, who previously defeated Joe Joyce, adding to the excitement of the event. Boxing fans can catch all the action live on Sky Sports Box Office on Friday, March 8.
