Francesco Totti reveals Paulo Dybala transfer talks as Arsenal and Tottenham aim to convince him

Roma legend Francesco Totti says he will try to persuade Paulo Dybala to move to the Italian capital after confirming his departure from Juventus. Arsenal and Tottenham are both reportedly eager to bolster their attacking options with the Argentinian but that task may have become more difficult.

Dybala played his final match at the Allianz Stadium on Monday night as both he and Giorgio Chiellini said an emotional farewell to the Italian giants. The 28-year-old has been a Juventus player since the summer of 2015 and helped them in their period of Serie A domination in recent years.

Mikel Arteta and Antonio Conte are both looking to bolster their sides ahead of a return to European football. Dybala was previously on the cusp of a move to Spurs back in the January transfer window of 2020 only for the deal to fall through at the last minute.

But if Totti has any say, Dybala will join neither London side, or Manchester United or Manchester City. The Italy icon was speaking ahead of a game organised by Samuel Eto'o with a host of legends including Andrea Pirlo and Lionel Messi. Dybala is also set to play in the game and Totti revealed he has a plan ahead of kick-off.

“We’ll see if we can bring him to Rome," Totti said in an interview with Sky Italia. "I’ll meet him on Monday and I hope to convince him. We’re in Milan for Eto’o’s match, we’ll play together and I’ll give him some advice. I’ll try to put something in his head, hopefully we’ll succeed. That is if Roma are the same mind as me.”
