The newest winner of the genetic lottery has been revealed, as Frances Bean Cobain and Riley Hawk have welcomed a new baby.
News of Hollywood’s latest nepo baby was shared by Cobain on Instagram on Sunday. Following the Bieber family’s lead in steering clear of bizarre celebrity names (I’m looking at you, Apple Martin), Cobain and Hawk revealed that their new son, Ronin Walker Cobain Hawk, was born on September 17.
“Welcome to the world most beautiful son”, Cobain — the daughter of rock legends Kurt Cobain and Courtney Love — wrote in her baby announcement post. “We love you more than anything”.
The accompanying pics sent me into a clucky tailspin (I want one!), as the happy family are pictured cuddling Ronin while Riley looks the very definition of DILF.
While being able to claim Courtney Love and Kurt Cobain as grandparents might’ve been enough (for comparison, my dad was in the local paper once), little Ronin actually has famous relatives on both sides, since Riley is the son of skateboarding legend, Tony Hawk.
“My favorite grandson!”, Hawk wrote in a comment on Cobain’s post, probably before doing a celebratory kickflip.
Cobain and Hawk’s baby news comes almost a year after the couple reportedly tied the knot last October, in a ceremony attended by R.E.M. frontman Michael Stipe and Cobain’s godmother, Drew Barrymore. Yeah, her godmother is THEE Drew Barrymore, since having just two famous parents isn’t quite starry enough.
Ronin joins a vanguard of celebrity babies who’ve hit the jackpot in terms of successful (and attractive) parents this year, led by the aforementioned Jack Blues Bieber and Eloise Samantha Grainge, the newborn daughter of Sofia Richie.
Soon, the nepo baby community will also welcome newborns from currently pregnant stars like Margot Robbie, meaning a reality show starring all these famous offspring is hopefully already in the works.
Another celeb enjoying happy news this week is Lana Del Rey, who once beefed with Cobain over the singer’s comments about romanticising death.
The pop star got married to her alligator tour guide boyfriend (I’ll never get tired of writing that) on Friday, just a month after their romance became public.
All this talk of newborns and marriages might compel me back to dating apps. Actually, not even Ronin is cute enough to make me revisit that hellscape.
