France never expected to be here. In a runners-up vs runners-up last clash against another big hitter, that is, not in the last 16. Yet an unexpectedly poor showing in a 1-1 draw with Poland sealed Les Bleus' fate and Didier Deschamps' side must start as they mean to go on in the knockouts, especially after falling at this stage to Switzerland three years ago in a nervy penalty shootout.
Belgium were also expected to walk their group, but an early defeat to Slovakia set them on the wrong path. Though the Red Devils looked brighter in beating Romania (who eventually topped the group) 2-0, a limp goalless draw against Ukraine sparked boos and jeers from the stands. Captain Kevin De Bruyne encouraged his side not to go and clap their support and all doesn't look well in the camp. They have lost each of their four previous encounters with France at major tournaments by an aggregate 13-3 (including the 2018 World Cup semi-final) – can they turn it around?

How to watch France vs Belgium for FREE in the UK
Use a VPN to watch FREE from anywhere
France vs Belgium is free on ITV1/ITVX for viewers in the UK. Outside the UK? No problem. If you're travelling away from home and want to tune into ITVX as normal, you can use a VPN so that you don't get blocked by the broadcaster.
A Virtual Private Network (VPN), assuming it complies with your broadcaster’s T&Cs, creates a private connection between your device and t'internet, meaning the service can’t work out where you are and will let you watch. And all the info going between is entirely encrypted, anonymous and safe – and that's a result.
There are plenty of good-value options out there but, for Euro 2024, FourFourTwo recommends:
NordVPN is basically a tap-in:
1. Install it: NordVPN
2. Fire it up and choose your service. So, if you want to watch a UK streaming service, choose the UK server.
3. Enjoy the game. Open up ITVX and watch the stream.
