French President Emmanuel Macron revealed on Thursday that France has pledged an aid package of €100 million to support Lebanon. The announcement was made during the International Conference in Support of Lebanon’s People and Sovereignty held in Paris.
During his speech, Macron highlighted the urgent need for humanitarian assistance in Lebanon. He emphasized the importance of providing shelter for families, food for children, medical care for the wounded, and ensuring continued education for students.
Macron also called for a ceasefire between Hezbollah and Israel, expressing concern over the escalating violence in the region. He urged all parties to prioritize the safety and security of civilians and work towards a peaceful resolution.
The conference, organized by Macron, brought together representatives from over 50 countries, as well as the United Nations and the European Union. Notably, Israel did not participate in the event.
Macron's announcement of the aid package underscores France's commitment to supporting Lebanon during this challenging time. The funds will contribute to vital relief efforts and help alleviate the suffering of those affected by the ongoing crisis.
