France have made just one change to their team to take on Wales on Friday night with Gabin Villière replacing Damian Penaud on the wing.
Villière, one of France’s standout players in the first two rounds, missed the win in Scotland with a fractured sinus but is fit again to start.
He had been expected to replace Yoram Moefana, but Penaud - along with second row Romain Taofifenua - has tested positive for Covid, so they both miss out as a result.
That means Moefana swaps to the right wing to accommodate the return of Villière on the left.
Despite losing two players who featured in every Test match in 2021, France are boosted by the news that captain Antoine Dupont is fit to start despite leaving training early on Tuesday.
Centre Gaël Fickou has also been named despite missing training.
Taofifenua’s absence is one of two changes on the bench, with coach Galthié reverting to a 5-3 split as Toulouse winger Matthis Lebel offers extra cover of the backline.
The other change sees the recently recalled tight-head prop Mohamed Haouas make his first appearance of the Championship in place of Demba Bamba on the bench.
