France name experimental side for Scotland clash at Murrayfield

France will field an experimental side against Scotland tomorrow, with head coach Fabien Galthie selecting three debutants in his starting XV yesterday.

20-year-olds Emilien Gailleton of Pau and Louis Bielle-Biarrey of Bordeaux will line up at centre and on the wing respectively, while La Rochelle powerhouse Paul Boudehent earns his first cap in the back-row.

Brice Dulin will captain the side from full-back on his first appearance for Les Bleus since the 2021 Six Nations

Several figures expected to form the spine of France’s World Cup campaign in the Autumn have been given this weekend off – including captain and scrum-half Antoine Dupont, stand-off Romain Ntamack and No 8 Grégory Alldritt.

However, it is not a completely new-look team with the likes of Matthieu Jalibert, Yoram Moefana and Ethan Dumortier all featuring regularly in the match-day 23 during the last Six Nations.

In the pack, loose-head prop Jean-Baptiste Gros and second-row Cameron Woki add some experience after recovering from injuries which curtailed their Six Nations involvement.

France: B Dulin; L Bielle-Biarrey, A Gailleton, Y Moefana, E Dumortier; M Jalibert, B Couillud; J Gros, P Bourgarit, D Bamba, C Woki, C Vhalureau, P Boudent, S Macalou, T Tanga. Substitutes: P Mauvaka, R Wardi, S Falatea, P Willemse, D Cretin, B Serin, A Hastoy, A Vincent.
