France has requested an emergency meeting of the UN Security Council to address the recent strikes in Lebanon. The announcement was made by the French Foreign Minister during a session at the UN General Assembly.

The French Foreign Minister emphasized the need for de-escalation and urged all parties involved to cease the strikes taking place in the region. The Minister expressed concerns about the potential for a widespread conflict that could have devastating consequences, particularly for the civilian population.

“France, once again, calls upon the parties and their supporters to prioritize de-escalation and prevent a regional crisis that could result in significant harm to all involved,” the Minister stated.

In response to the escalating situation in Lebanon, the French Foreign Minister confirmed that an emergency meeting of the UN Security Council has been requested for the upcoming week. France is committed to actively engaging in efforts to address the crisis in Lebanon and other regions facing similar challenges.

“In Lebanon and beyond, France is fully committed to resolving major crises that pose a threat to the international community,” the Minister affirmed.
