Gianni Buttice (@giannibuttice) is back with his latest set of FPL tips ahead of the festive period and the FPL expert has ranked his top five Arsenal players.
Arsenal are the hottest property in FPL right now. There’s an argument to consider double Arsenal defence, double Arsenal attack, and most will be targeting a minimum of two Arsenal players for the festive season with some exploring the triple up.
The Gunners have some excellent fixtures coming up and only leave London once before now and Gameweek 23 where they play Wolves away.
With home matches against Everton and Ipswich coming up, the ceiling is high and selecting the right Arsenal assets could make or break your festive period. Ranking them isn’t easy but here in my top five.
FPL Tips For Festive Period: Top Five Arsenal Players
-
Bukayo Saka (£10.4m)
The Arsenal star is the best performing player in the game over the last couple of weeks where he’s had several price rises. He’s now close to 40% owned off the back of a 13 and 18 pointer in the last two gameweeks.
The addition of Martin Odegaard compliments Saka so well and sees the Arsenal attack function to full capacity and Saka is the main beneficiary of the Norwegian’s return.
Saka offers goal threat like the best midfielders in the game and outperforms every other player in FPL when it comes to creativity. No player has created more big chances or earned more assists than the Arsenal wide man.
-
Gabriel (£6.2m)
Gabriel offers higher goal threat than any other centre back in the league, he has three goals one assist so far this season.
He also happens to play for the best defensive unit in the league from last season. Clean sheets haven’t been as regular so far for Arsenal but no doubt we will see a flurry of them throughout the festive period.
Some will argue that Gabriel should be the highest priced defender in the game and at 6.2 million he offers great exceptional value.
-
Jurrien Timber (£5.5m)
The former Ajax star is a slightly cheaper route to the Arsenal defence at 5.5 million. When fit he almost always starts and with Ben White injured for a while he will make the right back spot his own over the festive season.
He’s very comfortable in the attacking third and registered an assist last time out in the Champions League and at 3% owned he’s a differential unlike most consistent scorers at Arsenal.
William Saliba is also an excellent choice for those considering double Arsenal defence but Timber allows you to save significant funds. At the moment it feels like there is very little difference between the two, with regards to output.
-
Kai Havertz (£7.9m)
Havertz is Arsenal’s first choice number 9, make no doubt about it. In fact he’s played 90 minutes in every game this season bar one.
He was super impressive for the second half of the season last time out and I expect him to be equally as productive again.
With five goals so far he’ll feel like he could do better and expectations should be high for the talented German. He’s only 10% owned and for those looking for an Alexander Isak or Dominic Solanke replacement, he offers a fun alternative.
-
David Raya (£5.5m)
I expect David Raya to finish as the highest scoring goalkeeper in the league this season but at 5.5 million he’s more expensive than the rest of the field.
Whilst his points will be steady, it remains to be seen if he offers the best value with some of the game’s budget goalkeepers outscoring him so far.
Nevertheless, the Spaniard offers a set and forget safe pair of hands for consistent six pointers.
