Abdul Rehman (FPL_Salah) has teamed up with SportsCasting to provide you with another round of FPL tips for Gameweek 14 and beyond.
Every week FPL Salah will be providing you with insight and advice to gear you up, continuing with his Fantasy Premier League tips for Gameweek 14.
This is his 18th season playing FPL, and he’s finished in the top 1,000 four times, with 14 finishes in the top 50,000. He also writes weekly FPL articles for The Athletic and Fantasy Football Hub.
This week, FPL Salah will be presenting three transfer targets for the festive period: a defender, a midfielder, and a forward.
FPL Salah’s Gameweek 14 Tips
Joe Gomez (£4.8m) – Liverpool
Joe Gomez partnered Virgil van Dijk (£6.4m) against Manchester City. It seems Arne Slot prefers him to Jarell Quansah (£3.9m), and with Ibrahima Konaté (5.4m) set to miss a reported five to six weeks, Gomez can be great value.
Liverpool have the best defence in the league at the moment. They have conceded the least goals (8) and have the best xGC (expected goals conceded: 10.6).
Their fixtures over the next month are great too, as they play Everton (A), Fulham (H), Leicester City (H), West Ham (A), and Manchester United (H) in the next seven.
A Liverpool defender at only £4.8m is great value, and he also acts as an enabler, allowing you to upgrade other areas of your squad.
Jarrod Bowen (£7.4m) – West Ham United
West Ham have had an inconsistent start to the season, but Jarrod Bowen has been plugging along with the points. He has three goals and four assists and their fixtures over the next month look great. In the next five, West Ham play Leicester City (A), Wolves (H), Bournemouth (A), Brighton (H) and Southampton (A).
Bowen should score well over this run, as he is his side’s talisman and is nailed to start. He plays 90 minutes most games, and this is exactly the type of player we want over the festive period, where we typically see a lot of rotation.
He scored 16 goals and six assists last season so we know he is a proven FPL asset. He is also only owned by 5.9% of FPL managers, so also acts as a great differential.
Nicolas Jackson (£8.0m) – Chelsea
The Chelsea forward has had a fantastic start to the season, scoring eight goals and creating four assists.
He is the clear first choice number 9 for Enzo Maresca’s team and should play plenty of minutes over this period. He may get some reduced minutes over the next month, but I think he should start all the league games. Chelsea have shown this season that they play their B-team in the Conference League, so he should get his rest in those games.
The London club have been great going forward, netting 26 goals (second most) with an xG of 23.41 (four best), and there is no doubt with Jackson leading the line he will get plenty of chances.
The Blues have a fantastic run of fixtures ahead for quite a while. In the next eight, they play Southampton (A), Spurs (A), Brentford (H), Everton (A), Fulham (H), Ipswich (A), Crystal Palace (A), Bournemouth (H), and Wolves (H).
You can’t really ask for a better set of games from an attacking point of view.
Midweek Deadline
A reminder that the Gameweek 14 deadline is on Tuesday at 6.00pm (GMT) and we will have games on Wednesday and Thursday too. Make sure to be vigilant over the next month too, as we have another midweek gameweek in 18.
