FPL GW13 Tips: Big Man Bakar Answers 6 Key Questions

Fantasy football expert Big Man Bakar answers the key questions surrounding transfers and team selection in his FPL GW13 tips.

As we approach Gameweek 13, Fantasy Premier League (FPL) managers face several tough decisions.

From weighing up a potential switch from Heung-min Son to Bukayo Saka, to assessing forwards like Raul Jimenez and Dominic Solanke, here’s a breakdown of the key considerations for the week.

FPL GW13 Tips: The Big Questions Answered

Q) Cunha or Joao Pedro, who to pick if buying one this week?

This is one of the most popular dilemmas this week. I prefer João Pedro over Cunha if picking one, as he has the slightly better fixtures, and his non-penalty xGI per 90 is much superior to Cunha’s too.

Crucially, the £1.3m difference goes a long way in improving the rest of the team as well.

Q) Who is the best GW13 captain?

According to the bookmakers, here are the probabilities for each realistic candidate to score or assist this Gameweek:

  • Salah: 60%
  • Palmer: 67%
  • Mbeumo: 62%
  • Fernandes: 53%

Palmer is fairly clear of the others, so I think I’ll side with the bookmakers here, as he comes across as the safest choice.

Q) Son to Saka this week?

Saka is probably a superior asset, but Son’s underlying data has been similar to Saka this season.

I don’t think there’s a significant difference in points potential between both this week, as Son also has a favourable fixture at home to Fulham when Saka is scheduled to play against West Ham.

Their respective odds to score or assist this week are fairly similar as well.

Q) Antoine Semenyo – sell or keep?

Semenyo is suspended for this week, but if you have a playable eighth attacker and can afford to bench Semenyo, I’d keep him.

This is primarily because the fixtures after this week are favourable.

Only Haaland has attempted more shots than Semenyo this season, so the underlying data is also in his favour.

I believe he will be a great asset to own in the festive period, considering the fact that he is a nailed starter in the Bournemouth team.

Q) Raul Jimenez – keep or sell?

If you have no other route to Joao Pedro, I’d sell, as I believe Joao Pedro is a better pick.

However, if you have another route to Joao Pedro and can afford to keep Jimenez, that’s the route I would take.

Some of the upcoming fixtures for Raul aren’t ideal, but he rotates really well with cheap enablers like Morgan Rogers and Antoine Semenyo, so he should be a good long-term pick.

Q) Dominic Solanke – keep or sell?

With the fixtures coming thick and fast, I believe Solanke is a good player to hold.

Spurs are ranked 1st for xG this season, with Solanke right up there among the league’s top forwards in the xG charts.

He’s completely nailed on to start and should be a 90-minute man on most days.
