FPL General GW19 Tips: Best In-Form Festive Players

FPL General is back with a round of FPL tips for Gameweek 19, as they pick the standout players to bring in based on the Christmas results.

As the festive period runs its course, managers on FPL are searching for ways to pick up points and looking for hidden gems.

There are the obvious selections to bring into your team for the new year with the likes of Mohamed Salah, Cole Palmer and Bukayo Saka, but there are some cheaper options who could accumulate several points in GW19 and moving forward into 2025.

Below are the top five standout statistics from GW18 to help you with your selections in GW19 and the festive period in general.

FPL GW19 Tips: Standout Stars From GW 18

1 – Josko Gvardiol (£6.0m)

Although he plays as a defender, Josko Gvardiol managed 5 goal attempts against Everton on Boxing Day, with 4 coming from inside the box and 2 of which being deemed as big chances by Opta.

Of his five shots against the Toffees, Gvardiol managed none on target and Manchester City still drew as their poor form continued.

Despite City’s struggles, Gvardiol is a great FPL pick and with the Premier League champions desperate to turn their form around heading into the new year, now might be the time to bring the defender in.

2 – Phil Foden (£9.2m)

Another Manchester City option further up the field is last year’s Premier League player of the season Phil Foden. The Englishman created seven chances vs Everton, his most in any game this season so far after a disappointing start to the year.

If budget allows, he’s a potentially explosive differential to replace Manchester United captain Bruno Fernandes, who picked up a suspension after being shown a second yellow card against Wolves.

3 – Antoine Semenyo (£5.6m)

Antoine Semenyo had 5 shots in the box vs Crystal Palace on Boxing Day, as the Cherries forward managed to find space in the penalty area on multiple occasions with only his finishing letting the Bournemouth star down.

Despite blanking in 9 of his last 11 appearances, Semenyo remains a good cheap enabler at a reasonable price.

Only Mohamed Salah has more shots in the box among midfielders this season, making Semenyo a great alternative for the Liverpool superstar.

4 – Alexander Isak (£9.1m)

Alexander Isak has been on fire in the Premier League of late and he’s the must-have forward. If you don’t already own him, find a way to get there.

Isak created four chances against Aston Villa in their dominant win over Aston Villa and with four shots in the box including a goal, there is no shortage of opportunities for the Swedish forward.
