FPL Gameweek 20 Tips: Newcastle Options Not Named Isak

Gianni Buttice (@giannibuttice) is back with his latest set of FPL gameweek 20 tips. This week, he focuses on Newcastle United stars who aren’t Alexander Isak.

FPL Gameweek 20 Tips: Invest In Newcastle Trio

Why we should be buying Newcastle United stars not named Alexander Isak. The super Swede has been great for his owners in recent matches.

The Magpies are keeping lots of clean sheets and scoring bundles of goals. Therefore, should we be doubling or even tripling up on Eddie Howe’s men?

The Toon Army have won four games on the bounce and with a brilliant fixture run ahead, their players should be strongly considered.

An entry point of Tottenham away followed by home games against Wolves and Bournemouth before a trip to Southampton is a great run which will surely see the goals continue. Having scored 18 across their last six Premier League matches.

That gives an average of three goals per game. Now, it is time to consider three Newcastle stars who aren’t Alexander Isak. If you don’t own the Swede, buy him asap.

Lewis Hall – £4.8 Million

Lewis Hall has three assists in his last four games and has become a creative outlet for Newcastle. Still under £5 million, he is the standout defender in this team.

He always achieves a good bonus points system number because of his creativity and assist threat both in open play and on set pieces.

With four clean sheets on the bounce, we’re starting to see a much stronger defensive unit from the Magpies. They haven’t looked this solid at the back since Eddie Howe’s first season at St James’ Park.

Anthony Gordon – £7.4 Million

Anthony Gordon has an attacking return in each of his last four games and is putting up good numbers this season with an expected goal involvement of 0.60 per 90.

He’s produced 0.50 per 90 when it comes to actual goals and assists so we’ve seen a slight under performance from the wide man but nonetheless his underlying statistics are healthy and he’s no doubt the second best attacking pick after Isak, and nearly 2 million cheaper.

11 goals and 16 assists last season was super impressive from Gordon and he will need a sensational second-half to the campaign to reach those numbers again. But you wouldn’t put it past him.

Jacob Murphy – £5.1 Million

Jacob Murphy was on everyone’s radar going in to Gameweek 1 after he scored bundles of pre-season goals but he was in and out of the team by the time the league campaign had started.

More recently however, he’s started the last six matches and made the right sided spot his own and with seven goal involvements in those games he’s offered outstanding value at £5.1 million and 4.3% ownership.

Newcastle have tried to shoehorn Harvey Barnes in the XI at the expense of Murphy. However, Barnes and Gordon are much more comfortable on the left. Meaning Murphy has offered the team much more balance and if he continues to play this well, his run in the team will continue.
