FPL Gameweek 16 Tips: Gianni Buttice Highlights Chelsea Star

Gianni Buttice (@giannibuttice) is back with his latest set of FPL gameweek 16 tips. This week, he focuses on an energetic midfielder who costs just £5 million.

FPL Gameweek 16 Tips: Invest In Chelsea Stars

Chelsea have the best attack in the Premier League right now and owning Cole Palmer alone isn’t sufficient if you want to benefit from the Blues scoring bundles of goals.

If all your mini league rivals also own Palmer, then gains are not there to be made. Only by owning a second west London attacker are you likely to really benefit.

Enzo Maresca’s side ranks first for goals scored and expected goals. They also place second for big chances in the league this season. In short, they’re the best attack in the league right now.

Also, they have some hugely favourable fixtures on the horizon we should be investing.

Brentford, Everton, Fulham, Ipswich, Crystal Palace, Bournemouth and Wolves is a run of seven games that cannot be matched by any other team in terms of fixture difficulty.

We’ve seen a slight change in system in the last four game weeks for Chelsea and Enzo’s position has been central to this. Before the Leicester match in gameweek 12 he wasn’t a regular starter in the Premier League.

Enzo Fernandez Is A Must-Have

Both Moises Caicedo and Romeo Lavia were preferred with a back four behind them. Enzo was in and out of the starting XI. However, we have seen Enzo play 90 minutes in the last four matches. Also, he hasn’t played in his usual defensive midfield role.

As an attacking number 8 or even a second number 10 at times, the World Cup winning midfielder has become a fine attacking outlet. He has contributed 3 goals and 2 assists in those four matches.

With Caicedo playing as an inverted right back, Chelsea are effectively getting one extra attacker in the team. That means that Enzo is benefiting.

My concern with Enzo playing higher up the field was that he will eat in to Palmer’s positioning and there will be less space for Chelsea’s main man.

However, we have seen Enzo clearly drift left, and Palmer drift right in the last few weeks. It could be argued that opposition defensive midfielders are now having to monitor both stars. They’re getting over run and both are in fact getting more time on the ball.

Enzo is wearing the captain’s armband, on half of the set pieces and showing why Chelsea broke the bank to sign him.

At 5 million and only 5% owned, he’s looking like the best enabler in the game at the moment. Whilst it remains to be seen if Chelsea, and Enzo can continue this form, given the fixtures at the fact that he can play a part of your rotation between 7th and 8th attacker, a move to buy him feels relatively risk free.

If his form dips, or the fixture isn’t there for him, you simply bench him.
