With tens of thousands of people expected to attend the Foyle Maritime Festival in Derry this week, it is essential for visitors to plan ahead and know the whereabouts of nearby parking facilities.
With plenty to see and do in the Foyle Maritime Festival, checking parking facilities will be a stress lifted off of many drivers shoulders, especially since some road closure are to be expected.
Visitors are being encouraged to check out the Traffic and Travel advice ahead of their visit.

On-street parking restrictions will be in place throughout the festival, and parking will be available at usual car parks throughout the city. However, the Queen's Quay car park will be closed for the duration of the festival to allow for events along the quayside.
There is also free event parking at Fort George and people are encouraged to avail of this facility and to refrain from parking at Sainsbury's car park. Council would encourage people to use the city centre car parks and Magee College Car Park is also available for parking.
Council is committed to ensuring that this year's festivities are as accessible and inclusive as possible, and as a result have provided accessible Parking at the Strand Road Car Park.
Other parking facilities will be available from city centre car parks such as Quayside, which is open until 9.45PM on weekdays, 8.45PM on Saturdays and 6.45PM on Sundays. Victoria Market car park in the city centre is open all day, as is the Foyle Street car park beside Derry's Guildhall.
Visitors are also encouraged to take advantage of extra public transport services. On Friday July 22, Translink will provide the following extra services after the festival’s magnificent ‘What Lies Beneath’ riverfront interactive experience that will animate the Foyle followed by a mesmerizing fireworks display.
A ‘Nightmover’ Foyle Metro bus departures at 23.30hrs and 00.15hrs serving both the Cityside and Waterside areas. A Midnight Goldliner 212 coach service to Belfast and a 23.30hrs bus service to Strabane and late-night train at 23.38hrs serving Bellarena, Castlerock and Coleraine.
On Sunday July 24, there will be a special late-night train departure at 21.38hrs serving Bellarena, Castlerock and Coleraine so spectators can enjoy the final day of the festival.
