The Minnesota Vikings have not made any decisions on Za’Darius Smith or Danielle Hunter during this offseason. Both players are currently in the final year of their contracts, and the team may consider adding to the position for future security.
On Thursday, the Fox Sports football staff worked together to create a new mock draft in which the Vikings selected Georgia Tech EDGE Keion White. Carmen Vitali made the pick and had this to say about White.
Is Za’Darius Smith still a Viking in 2023? He doesn’t seem to think so. But even if he is, Minnesota needs to get better rushing the passer — it’s why Brian Flores was brought in as defensive coordinator, after all. White has been relatively overlooked, with bigger edge names eating up most of the conversation, but he could be an immediately impactful piece to the Vikings’ now-aggressive outside rotation.
White is a physically impressive player capable of playing any position along the defensive line. He has the power, strength, and relentless drive to excel at the next level. Although his potential is evident when watching him on film, he will need to work with coaches at the next level to improve and reach his full potential.
