The Baltimore Ravens and San Francisco 49ers are playing in arguably the most anticipated game of the season on Monday night, as both teams enter Week 16 as the top seeds in their conference. However, as Fox was previewing the matchup during the Philadelphia Eagles-New York Giants game, the network made an egregious error.
Fox showed a graphic comparing the stats of Ravens quarterback Lamar Jackson and 49ers quarterback Brock Purdy, two of the favorites in the MVP race. However, the network got Jackson’s passer rating wrong, showing a pedestrian 69.5 rating instead of his actual 96.5 number.
Some propaganda here from Fox showing the wrong QB rating for Lamar Jackson. Jackson’s QB rating is 96.5 pic.twitter.com/oOB7l6XNnd

Among starters, Purdy leads the league in passer rating, while Jackson is eighth in that category. If Jackson’s number was 69.5, as Fox claimed, the Ravens quarterback would be last among all starting quarterbacks in the league.
Jackson has had an outstanding season, and anyone who has watched him knows that this number was probably not right. It’s tough to get a number like that incorrect on a graphic, but what makes it tougher is how far off the number was from the correct figure.
