Fox’s feed cut out at the worst possible moment during the Falcons’ game-winning field goal

After a rough showing in London against the Jaguars, the Falcons returned home to Atlanta for their Week 5 matchup with the Texans and had themselves a crucial bounce-back performance.

Atlanta’s 21-19 win saw the Texans briefly take the lead late in the game before Falcons quarterback Desmond Ridder navigated a drive down the field to set up an eventual game-winning field goal for Younghoe Koo. The drama was palpable ahead of the 37-yard try.

But for all the fans who watched the field goal live on Fox, they almost missed the biggest play of the game. That was because the Fox feed cut out to a black screen just after Koo made contact with the ball.

I have no idea how that happens. Out of all the moments to lose the feed, a game-winning field goal is when that cannot happen.

The feed did return just as the ball split the uprights, but that split-second cutaway nearly had NFL fans losing it.
